On February 2, 2002 (02/02/2002), Professore Rumore and Doktor Rumour sailed for Maria Island -or TOARRA-MARRA-MONAH as it was known to the Aboriginal people- off the coast of Tasmania. They were following the Jules Verne rumours.
After a long and arduous voyage across a choppy sea in a stinky, smelly vessel the two sea sick scientists arrived on Maria Island.
Immediately they encountered a group of new media artists who had converged on the island for a circuit event. Strangely, they all seemed to be collecting data. The two eminent scientists engaged the artists/data collectors to report any unexplained anomalies, unusual phenomena or other evidence to substantiate the Jules Verne rumours.
